4.7 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is the last line of defence that helps protect you from hazards

  • Your supervisor can instruct you in the proper use and care of your PPE.
  • It is your responsibility to wear and maintain the PPE in accordance with workplace procedures.
  • Only issued PPE is to be worn.
  • All PPE will be exchanged ‘one for one’ on a basis of ‘fair wear and tear’.
  • You will be provided with PPE for applicable work sites.
  • Your entitlement to PPE will depend on your relevant Employment Agreement or Contract.
  • In regard to PPE you are to follow the Site policy. In addition to personal PPE you will also be afforded task specific PPE which will be available at your work site.
  • Always check the MSDS and applicable Risk Assessment or JSA  to ensure you have the right PPE.
